Partial genome sequence of Bidens mottle virus sheds light on its taxonomy
Archives of Virology 153 (1), 227-228
Abstract: We report a partial genomic sequence of a Bidens mottle virus (BiMoV) isolate from Florida, spanning part of the NIb gene, and the complete coat protein (CP) gene and the 3' non-coding region (30NCR). This sequence shows that BiMoV and BiMV are distinct potyviruses but that a sunflower-infecting virus described from Taiwan and for which the name sunflower chlorotic spot virus was tentatively proposed is in fact an isolate of BiMoV.
