Archips Hübner, 1825
This genus of leafroller moths and webworms is widely distributed and contains more than 100 species, including various pests. These infest fruit trees, but also other trees and crops. Important pests are, for example the fruit tree tortrix, Archips podana in Europe or the fruittree leafroller Archips argyrospila in North America.
The genus is characterized, among others, by the shape, venation and colouration of its forewings and the structure of its uncus. The forewings are relatively broad and often yellowish or brownish with a mark in the subbasal area.
