Wirkungen eines Chemosterilants auf die Neurosekretion bei Acheta domesticus (L.) (Orthopt., Gryllidae)
[The effect of chemosterilants on neurosecretion in A. domesticus]
Anzeiger für Schädlingskunde, Pflanzenschutz, Umweltschutz 48 (7), 106-107
Abstract: In Acheta domesticus administration of the chemosterilant hemel prevented liberation of neurosecretory material in the brain and corpora cardiaca. In the corpora allata neurosecretory granules accumulated and large irregular vacuoles developed. The corpora allata normally stimulate oocyte maturation, but this is prevented under the influence of hemel, causing resorbtion of the oocyes. A reduction in the haemolymph acid and alkaline phosphatases was observed. Reduction of acid phosphatase diminishes albumen synthesis, while reduction of alkaline phosphatase diminishes protein and nucleic acid synthesis. It is concluded that this reduction in cellular activity is due to the loss of neurosecretory control.
