Caracterização Taxonômica, Novos Registros de Distribuição e de Hospedeiros de Anastrepha turpiniae Stone (Diptera: Tephritidae), no Brasil
[Taxonomic characterization, new records of distribuition and host plants of Anastrepha turpiniae Stone (Diptera: Tephritidae), in Brazil]
Anais da Sociedade Entomológica do Brasil 28 (4), 657-660
Abstract: The aculeus tip of Anastrepha turpiniae Stone resembles those of A. fraterculus (Wied.) and A. zenildae Zucchi. Therefore, A. turpiniae can be confused with these two species. However, A. turpiniae differs from A. fraterculus and from A. zenildae by having the aculeus tip more slender. Additionally, its aculeus tip is longer than in A. fraterculus and the serrate portion is shorter than in A. zenildae. Anastrepha turpiniae had been previously recorded in Brazil, in the State of Minas Gerais (unknown host). New distribution and host records, based on this paper, are: State of Amazonas (from Terminalia catappa), State of Goiás (from T. catappa and Andira humilis) and State of Sao Paulo (from Eugenia dodoneifolia, Psidium guajava, Prunus persica and Syzygium jambos).
