Agriotes brevis Candèze, 1863
This species of click beetle is a common pest of maize in Europe and can cause significant damage (Furlan, 2014). Like in other Agriotes species the damage is mainly caused by the larvae (wireworms) feeding on the roots. Monitoring by pheromone traps is recommended to determine if and when intervention is needed (Barsics et al., 2013).
