[A new species of genus Aptesis parasitic on Diprion jingyuanensis (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae, Diprionidae)]

Abstract: Aptesis grandis Sheng, sp. nov.
This new species is similar to Aptesis opaca (Cushman) 1937, but can be distinguished from the latter by: areola area of propodeum distinct; second abdominal tergite nearly as long as the third; male not more shining than female; color marks different.
Holotype female, Shanxi Province: Qinyuan County (36°10'N, 111°30'E), 1200 m, June 20, 1995. Chen Guofa.
Allotype male, paratypes: 1 female 2 males June 13, 1994. Sheng Malting; 10 females, 37 males, June 14~20, 1995, Chen Guofa and Zhang Qinghe. Other data as holotype.
Host: Diprion jingyuanensis Xiao et Zhang.
All type specimens are deposited in the General Station of Forest Pest Management, Ministry of Forestry.
