[Behavioral and eletrophysiological response of Myzus persicae to stimulus of (E)-ß-farnesene]

Abstract: (E) -ß-farnesene is a main component of aphid alarm pheromone. The sensory part of an antennae of Myzus persicae to (E) -ß-farnesene is located in the primary rhinaria as shown by cutting antennae experiment. The results of olfactory test showed that (E) -ß-farnesene was very effective in repelling Myzus persicae and the capability of response to (E)-ß-farnesene in the adult Myzus persicae is stronger than that in the young ones by EAG test.
