This wasp is found in South Americas. It is a parasitoid of the obscure mealybug (Pseudococcus viburni) and other Pseudococcus species. It has been released into California from Chile against P. viburni (Daane et al., 2008). The adult wasp is around 1.5 mm large and belongs to the group of Acerophagus species with white-tipped antenna which have been previously assigned to the genus Pseudaphycus.
