Acantholeucania loreyi (Duponchel, 1827) - (loreyi leafworm - false army worm)
This moth is widely distributed in warmer parts of Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. It is a pest of gramineous crops like maize, other cereals or sugarcane. Caterpillars often feed gregariously and can defoliate plants. The caterpillars are brownish or green, striped with four lines on the head. The wingspan of the adults is around 4 cm.
