Betabaculovirus pluxylostellae (entomopathogen)
Assigned virus:
• Plutella xylostella granulovirus (PlxyGV)
The Plutella xylostella granulovirus is widely distributed and infects the larval stages of the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella. Epizootics can develop in the field and methods for field application have been developed (e.g. Subramanian et al., 2010). Different strains have been described that vary in their pathogenicity to P. xylostella. The virus has also shown a synergistic effect when applied in combination with other pathogens like Bacillus thuringiensis (Han, et al., 2015).
