Abstract: Since the 1920s Phytophthora lateralis has been killing Port-Orford-cedar (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana) trees in the Pacific Northwest of North America. Another host of the fungus is Pacific yew (Taxus brevifolia). The biology, epidemiology and management of the fungus are reviewed.
