Abstract: Seven species of Lyctidae are recorded from Israel: Lyctus linearis (Goeze) and L. planicollis Le Conte for the first time; as well as L. africanus Lesne; L. brunneus (Stephens); L. parallelocollis Blackburn; Minthea rugicollis Walker ; Trogoxylon impressum (Comolli); and Acantholyctus cornifrons Lesne for the first time from Sinai. The extent of damage and its reduction and prevention are described.
