Botrytis elliptica (Berk.) Cooke 1928
The fungus causes leaf blight of lily. The symptoms start with necrotic spots on the leaves which expand quickly under favourable environmental conditions. For management, fungicides are used. However, fungicide resistance has been reported in some areas.
The apothecia are rare and 7 to 12 mm in height with a disk of 3 to 4 mm in diameter and 0.5 to 1 mm in thickness. Asci are long, cylindrical with a size of 208 × 14 μm, thin walled and bearing eight ascospores. Ascospores are hyaline in colour, ellipsoidal with rounded ends and around 19.5 × 8 μm large (Bin et al., 2015).
