Bathyplectes anurus (parasitoid) (Thomson, 1887)
This wasp is a solitary larval endoparasitoid of the alfalfa weevil (Hypera postica) which has been introduced from Europe into North America. The cocoon of this species has a narrow, raised middle band and jumps if disturbed.
