Cripavirus ropadi (entomopathogen)
Assigned virus:
• Rhopalosiphum padi virus (RhPV)
The Rhopalosiphum padi virus was originally isolated from the aphid Rhopalosiphum padi and decreases its longevity and fecundity. It is similar to the aphid lethal paralysis virus (Cripavirus mortiferum) but its genome is slightly larger. Both viruses can be transmitted horizontally between insects, but also vertically to their progeny.
