First report of Colletotrichum karstii causing anthracnose on strawberry in Brazil
Plant Disease 105 (11 - 0518)
Abstract: During 2019, strawberry plants (Fragaria × ananassa) grown in Santa Catarina State, Brazil were observed with symptoms of irregular and circular dark brown leaf spots sometimes associated with chlorosis and petiole necrosis. The fungus Colletotrichum karstii was isolated from the diseased plants. The identification was based on morphological characteristics and DNA sequence analysis. Pathogenicity of the isolates was demonstrated by inoculation and re-isolation.
