Abstract: Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. carotovorum causing soft rot of calla (Zantedeschia aethiopica) plants is reported in central Italy. Bacterial isolates were identified by biochemical, physiological and pathogenicity tests and characterized by the API 50 CHE Kit and rep-PCR.
