Labidura riparia (predator) (Pallas, 1773) - (striped earwig, shore earwig)

This earwig has a world-wide distribution and is regarded as a useful polyphagous predator of pest insects. The prey includes larval stages of Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, and various other insect orders. The adults reach a length of around 25 mm and usually have a light brown colouration with variable dark brown parts and stripes. It often hides during the day in burrows or nests.
