Necrobia Olivier, 1795
The genus Necrobia contains around 10 species and belongs to the family Cleridae. Three species have a world-wide distribution and are known as storage pests that infest stored meat like ham, and other stored animal or cassava products. The adults are 3-6 mm long with a bluish metallic colouration, but in Necrobia ruficollis the pronotum and base of the elytra is reddish brown. The copra beetle, Necrobia rufipes, is the most important member.
