Crematogaster scutellaris (Olivier, 1792)

This ant species is mainly regarded as a beneficial general predator of insect pests (e.g. Radeghieri, 2004). However, like many other ants it may also protect aphids and other Hemiptera to collect their honeydew. It is found in Europe and neighbouring regions.
