Template:CheckAbstract

The template takes two parameters:

|1= 
The info parameter, which should contain any previous messages to be displayed in the Infobox (see Template:InformationBox) for a publication.
|2= 
The field <Publication abstract> of the article.

If the publication does not contain an abstract the template expands the text for the Infobox with the message. Usage (example misses the abstract):

{{CheckAbstract|1=|2=}}

… results in:

This article does not have an abstract. An abstract would provide valuable information to the user and would result in more searches leading to it. You can add the original abstract if you are the author or if the journal or publisher is listed on the page Acknowledgements to copy abstracts. Alternatively you may want to add your own short summary of this article with important information it contains and with likely search words or phrases.
