Chrysomela lapponica Linnaeus, 1758 is a leaf beetle feeding on willow and birch in northern and central Europe which can show different colour patterns on its elytra. In the Kola Peninsula of north-west Russia, outbreaks of Chrysomela lapponica resulted in severe defoliation of the willow species Salix borealis during the 1990s.
