Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Latereille, 1806) - brown dog tick
is widely distributed and may bite humans. It is the vector of many pathogens of humans and dogs, like Mediterranean spotted fever (Rickettsia conorii), Q-fever, canine ehrlichiosis, Babesia canis as well as other pathogens.
