Trioza apicalis Förster - carrot psyllid
is an important pest of carrots, especially in northern Europe. The psyllid is associated with haplotype C of "Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum" and apparently transmits this bacterial disease to carrots. In autumn, the psyllid migrates to conifers, especially Norway spruce, for overwintering.
