Mesocriconema ornatum (Raski) Loof & De Grisse, 1989
This ring nematode is a serious agricultural pest, that infests various crops like groundnuts/peanuts, sugarcane, and grasses. Recent damage has been mainly reported from tropical and subtropical areas in the Americas, but the species has been also reported from other regions like Africa or southern Asia. In south-eastern North America, it can reduce peanut yields significantly (Koenning et al., 1998).
