First report of `Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris'-related strain associated with peach rosette in Canada
Plant Disease 94 (7), 916-917
Abstract: During 2009, Prunus persica plants grown in Ontario, Canada in the Canadian Clonal Genebank were observed with symptoms of peach rosette symptoms. The presence of a phytoplasma was demonstrated with PCR analysis using a 16S ribosomal gene primer. The PCR product was cloned and sequenced. Sequence analysis showed the presence of a phytoplasma belonging to group 16SrI (Aster Yellows), subgroup B (16SrI-B).
