Listronotus Jekel, 1865
This genus of weevils contains more than 50 species. Most of them are found in the Americas but some species occur in other regions and are invasive like the Argentina stem weevil, Listronotus bonariensis. Damage has been reported mainly from grasses, but other crops may be also attacked, e.g. by the carrot weevil, Listronotus oregonensis.
The adults are small to medium-sized (1-14 mm) and have an elongated-oval shape and convex elytra. The cuticle is covered with scales and hairs.
