Opogona sacchari Bojer - (banana moth)

The moth is found in various tropical and subtropical regions and attacks a variety of crops. Common hosts are banana plants, sugarcane, Dracaena and several palms. Initially, the caterpillars typically feed on injured plant parts and then attack the healthy tissue. The can damage leaves stems and roots.
