The viroid genus Coleviroid contains several Coleus blumei viroids that infect the ornamental plant ''Coleus blumei'' and are widely distributed. These include, for example, Coleus blumei viroid 1 (CbVd-1) first described from Brazil, or CbVd-2, CbVd-3 and CbVd-4, all three originally described from Germany. Various leaf symptoms have been described and these appear to depend on the cultivar. They include irregular chlorotic spots and patches, albino symptoms as well as symptomless infections.
