This moth is found in Europe, North America, China, and Japan. The larvae feed on leaves and flowers of wild or cultivated strawberry, as well as other plants of the Rosaceae family. In Europe, there are usually 2 generations per year. The adult moth has a wingspan of around 15 mm and a variable colour pattern.
