Anisolabididae - Euborellia annulipes (predator) (Lucas, 1847) - (ring-legged earwig)
The Anisolabididae are a family of predatory earwigs with an elongated body and a long abdomen. In males the right pincer is curved more strongly near the tip compared to the left pincer. The family includes several hundred species world-wide, many of them are wingless.
Euborellia annulipes has been frequently recorded as preying on pest insects. For example, it is one of the most common earwigs in the citrus groves of southern Europe (Romeu-Dalmau et al., 2016). It is also common in the Americas and appears to be a generalist, feeding on a large variety of insect groups, including larvae of Lepidoptera and Coleoptera, or mealybugs and other sucking insects.
