Alphatetraviridae (entomopathogens)

The family Alphatetraviridae includes small isometric, non-enveloped RNA viruses, around 40 nm in diameter with a single-stranded positive-sense genome and a length of ~ 6.5 kb. They infect Lepidoptera. The viruses were previously part of the obsolete family Tetraviridae.
