Abiodun A. Denloye (Ph. D), is a Zoologist and an Associate Professor of Applied Entomology and Pest Management, with strong passion for Biosafety and Biosecurity (Biorisk) Management. He studied at Lagos State University (LASU) (B. Sc. Hons) and University of Lagos (M. Sc, Ph. D), Nigeria. He has collaborated with colleagues from same department and alsow with those from Fisheries, Chemistry and Botany departments of LASU and other universities as well as scientists at the Nigerian Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) for studies on insecticidal potency of plant natural products, environmental toxicology of metals, ecology, pollution, biosafety and management of biomedical wastes over the years, and produced numerous scholarly publications in highly rated peer-reviewed international and local journals and conference presentations. He is widely traveled across the world for Applied Entomology, Pest Management, Biosafety, Biodiversity Conservation and Ecotourism. Denloye occupies leadership positions within and outside the University and in his co-curricular endeavours. He is a member of the National Executive Council of Entomological Society of Nigeria (ESN) being the National Business Manager, and Chairman of the Lagos Branch. He has been for a second time the Head, Department of Zoology and Environmental Biology, LASU. His pioneering efforts contributed to the formation of the Nigeria Biosafety Association (NiBSA) in 2010. He was the pioneer Secretary of NiBSA and now Vice President.
