Agriotes lineatus (Linnaeus, 1767) - (common click beetle)
The larvae (wireworms) attack tubers/roots of numerous crops like potatoes, beets, cereals, sunflower, hop and vegetables, also ornamental plants and young trees may be damaged. This is one of the most destructive Agriotes species in Europe and has been accidentally introduced into western Canada in the late 1800s.
