Taxonomic revision of the genus Plutella SCHRANK 1802 (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae) from the Palaearctic region with notes on its phylogeny
Polish Journal of Entomology (Polskie Pismo Entomologiczne) 76 (suppl.), 1-122
Abstract: The genus Plutella SCHRANK 1802 from the Palaearctic region is revised and redescribed on the basis of examination of over 1800 specimens in different institutional and private collections. Two new genera are described: Plutelloptera and Pseudoplutella. Three new species are described and illustrated: Plutella karsholtella from Canary Isles, Plutelloptera huemerella from France and Plutelloptera kyrkella from Russia. The systematic position of three genera and all species are discussed and cladistic analysis is provided. Original keys for identification to genera and the species are compiled.
