Fusarium chlamydosporum Wollenw. & Reinking 1925

This fungus is soil-borne and found in many regions, infecting cereals and a large variety of other plants. It causes diseases like Fusarium head blight, crown rot, damping-off, stem canker and root rot diseases.

A number of closely related species have been described and F. chlamydosporum is regarded as species complex which includes for example Fusarium nelsonii. See Crous et al., 2022 for a description of a neotype and a discussion of the species complex.
