Betapartitivirus - White clover cryptic virus 2 (WCCV-2)

The genus Betapartitivirus (previously called Betacryptovirus) includes around 30 virus species that infect plants and fungi. They are similar to White clover cryptic virus 2 and have two double-stranded RNA segments that are believed to be individually encapsidated in separate particles. The total genus has a length ranging from 4.3 to 4.8 kbp.

White clover cryptic virus 2 is widely distributed. It infects white clover (Trifolium repens), often together with White clover cryptic virus 1, but does not cause symptoms. The particles are isometric and approximately 38 nm in diameter.
