Umbravirus

The members of this genus of plant viruses resemble the Carrot mottle virus. They have non-enveloped, spherical (icosahedral) particles, about 25-30 nm in diameter. The single-stranded positive-sensed RNA genome is monopartite with 4 open reading frames. The transmission occurs through aphids. The viruses need a satellite virus for encapsidation and aphid transmission.
