Thermobia domestica (Packard, 1837) - (firebrat)
This species of silverfish is widely distributed in houses and stores, where it feeds on carbohydrate-rich food. In houses it usually does little damage and is more regarded as a nuisance pest.
T. domestica has a body length of around 10 mm, without the antennae and tails. The colour is a mixture of dark brown and light yellowish brown patches, in contrast to the uniform greyish colour of other common silverfish species like Lepisma saccharina.
