Synsepalum (crop)

This genus of shrubs and trees is native to the tropical parts of Africa. Synsepalum dulcificum (miracle fruit) is a shrub, native to West Africa, but also grown in other tropical regions. It produces edible berries which make sour fruits (e.g. lemons) taste sweet.
