Spodoptera exigua multiple NPV (entomopathogen) (SeMNPV)

This virus is a multiple enveloped NPV infecting the beet armyworm (Spodoptera exigua). It has been isolated in various regions and is commercially produced in some countries (e.g. see Caballero et al., 2009). The virus is applied both in greenhouses as well as in open fields. It is highly pathogenic and fast acting in S. exigua.
