Pterostichus anthracinus (predator) (Illiger, 1798)

This ground beetles is a generalist predator, found in Europe and neighbouring regions. It favours a moist environment and is also common in agricultural fields as well as in neighbouring weed strips. Adult beetles are around 15 mm long and shiny black.
