Chalara fraxinea causing common ash dieback newly reported in Slovenia
Plant Pathology 58 (6), 1173-1173
Abstract: During 2006, common ash (Fraxinus excelsior) trees growing in Slovenia were observed with symptoms of shoot, twig and branch dieback, wilting, leaf and bark lesions, and grey to brown discoloration of the wood. The fungus Chalara fraxinea was isolated from the diseased plants. The identification was based on morphological characteristics. Pathogenicity of the isolates was demonstrated by inoculation and re-isolation.
