First report of Heterobasidion annosum on Pinus pinaster in Spain
Plant Disease 96 (5), 770-770
Abstract: During 2010, Pinus pinaster trees growing in Spain were observed with symptoms of crown transparency, small needles, foliage discoloration, and early tree death. The fungus Heterobasidion annosum was isolated from the diseased trees. The identification was based on morphological characteristics and ITS sequence analysis. Pathogenicity of the isolates was demonstrated by inoculation.
