First report of Potato virus Y in potato in Tajikistan
Plant Disease 96 (7), 1074-1074
Abstract: During 2011, potato (Solanum tuberosum) plants grown in Tajikistan were observed with symptoms of stunted growth and leaves showing chlorotic and necrotic spots, curling, and rings. Disease incidence in the surveyed area ranged from 10 to 60%. The presence of Potato virus Y, strains PVYO and PVYNTN, was demonstrated in the symptomatic plants using specific antisera, PCR analysis and nucleotide sequencing.
