Occurrence of banana bunchy top disease caused by the Banana bunchy top virus on banana and plantain (Musa sp.) in Cameroon
Plant Disease 93 (10), 1076-1076
Abstract: During 2008, banana- and plantain-producing regions of Cameroon were surveyed for the presence of Banana bunchy top virus (BBTV). DNA was extracted from 520 plants and tested by PCR with primers specific for a conserved domain of the BBTV DNA-R segment. A 240-bp DNA fragment specific to the virus was amplified in 31 samples. The presence of BBTV was further confirmed by nucleotide sequencing.
