New polish isolate of Pepino mosaic virus highly distinct from European tomato, Peruvian, and US2 xtrains
Plant Disease 90 (8), 1106-1106
Abstract: During 2005, tomato fruits grown in Poland were observed with symptoms of discoloration and contained a virus with flexuous filamentous particles approximately 500 nm long. Nucleic acids were extracted from symptomatic plants and the presence of Pepino mosaic virus (PepMV) was demonstrated using PCR analysis and ELISA tests. However, sequence analysis showed only 79 to 81% identity to other PepMV isolates.
