Abstract: During 1998, potato plants grown in Greece were observed with symptoms of potato tuber necrotic ringspot disease. The presence of potato virus Y isolate NTN was demonstrated in the symptomatic plants using specific antisera and PCR analysis. Since 1980, the disease has spread through Europe.
