First record of Faba bean necrotic yellows virus and beet western yellows luteovirus affecting lentil and chickpea in Pakistan
Plant Disease 82 (5), 591-591
Abstract: Lentil and chickpea fields in the Punjab Province of Pakistan were surveyed for virus diseases. In total, 6,505 samples were collected and tested for the presence of 14 different viruses by tissue-blot immunoassays. About 1 in 5 plants of lentil were virus infected, but fewer for chickpea. The presence of pea seed-borne mosaic virus and cucumber mosaic virus was frequently found in both crops. Other viruses found in both crops were faba bean necrotic yellows virus, beet western yellows luteovirus, chickpea chlorotic dwarf geminivirus, chickpea luteovirus, and alfalfa mosaic alfamovirus.
