Pinnaspis strachani (Cooley, 1899) - (lesser snow scale, cotton white scale)

This is a widespread and polyphagous scale insect, found mainly in tropical and subtropical regions. It has been recorded from many host plants and occasionally causes serious damage to ornamentals, fruit trees or other crops. For example, citrus, avocado and palms are often attacked. The scale cover is 1.5 to 2 5 mm long and white.
